Why Is USAA Only For The Military ?
It all started with the founding of the United Services Automobile Association (USAA), which began in 1922. When the bank decided to expand to the military, military members were encouraged to form a membership association within the bank.
To qualify, members had to have passed the Army Officer and Air Force Commissioned Officer testing or have an active duty or reserve military contract. In order to join the membership association, members had to pass the Army Officers and Air Force Commissioned Officer tests or be in the military. USAA, founded in 1922, started as a savings and loan association. It was founded by Dr. Robert Smith, who served in both the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War.
